Established in 1869, Weatherford College can still lay claim as the oldest continuing community college west of the Mississippi River. Its district consists of five counties – Parker, Palo Pinto, Hood, Jack and Wise.

WC provides programs that parallel the first two years of baccalaureate education, prepare students for vocational and professional degrees and provide valuable lifelong learning opportunities. 

Through our partnerships with institutions such as Midwestern State and Tarleton State University, to name a few, students may also pursue bachelor, master and doctorate degrees. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and many other program-specific accrediting authorities.

Weatherford College offers quality, affordable education taught by qualified, experienced faculty members. Whether you want to earn an associate’s degree, pick up a few classes before transferring to a four-year institution, looking to earn college credit while in high school, are an adult returning to college, or wanting to pursue Continuing Education, Weatherford College has a place for you.

Open Enrollment College

Weatherford College allows everyone to start their academic journey by accepting all who apply. As an open enrollment college, we accept all students with a high school diploma, or high school equivalency program such as Hi-Set, or GED.

Some programs may have additional admissions applications. Check individual programs for requirements.

Financial aid is assistance to help a student further their education. Weatherford College is dedicated to the idea that no student wishing to pursue a college education should be denied that opportunity. In determining the need for financial assistance, the Financial Aid Office is guided by its estimate of each student.

Financial aid consists of several components:

Coyote Village is a unique alternative to traditional residence hall living. The facility features apartment-style, four bedroom apartments. Currently the only on campus housing at Weatherford College, it is located right on Weatherford College’s beautiful campus with easy access to classes and resources on campus.
